Jed and Breann

I thought I'd do an in-depth update for the two people who read my blog about Jed and Breann. I think some of you have heard a bit about what they've been going through. Sorry if I get any of the information wrong.

Around 3:00 am the first time (I forget what day...Wednesday possibly) Breann got up to make the twins some bottles. She was out in the kitchen and heard a noise so she turned on a light and saw someone sticking a slimjim through their front door trying to get in. When she turned on the light though it scared the person and they ran off. They called the police who came and checked it out.

Later that day Breann got home sometime between 5:00 and 6:30 and found their apartment completely ripped apart. The person had thrown laundry everywhere, pulled stuff out of cupboards, etc. But they didn't take anything. I guess they had an envelope with some money in it and they didn't even take that. I heard from Annie that they think there might have been some blood on the front door. Once again the police came and checked everything out. After that they boxed anything up that had any value and put it in Jed's truck and they put in a deadbolt on the door.

On Thursday around 2:00 pm Annie called Breann since we'd forgot to earlier. Annie relayed to me and my mom that Breann was with the police and that someone had tried to take the twins. Mom and I got over to their apartment as fast as possible. Jed had come home for his lunch break and then a bit later Breann had decided to go to the store so she was in the back of their apartment drying her hair so she didn't know how long the guy had been in there before he came back for her. The man was wearing gloves and a ski mask so all she could see was his blue eyes. He shoved her into one of the bedrooms and told her if she came out he was going to take the babies, I don't know what room they were in. In the bedroom she called Jed and then the police. The man once again ripped the entire apartment a part doing even more damage this time. From how I understood it when he was done he picked the boys up and took them in to Breann (but I could be wrong). The police showed up before Breann was even off the phone with dispatch. They brought the canine unit with them this time and patrolled the nearby streets and the complex. The dogs went crazy in the complex so the police are assuming it's either someone Jed and Breann know or someone that lives in the complex and waits for them to be in vulnerable positions.

After they got their place cleaned up for the second time we packed up some of their things and moved them to my parents' house for a while. Later that night the guys put in new locks/re-keyed. As far as I know they are still at my parents' and there hasn't been another break in at their apartment.

That's as far as I know right now. Keep them in your prayers for us. And I'll update again when I know more.

I thought I'd do a quick update while I'm sitting at work.

Chris got promoted to 2nd assistant at his work. He seems happier now that he has more authority and can start helping the store fix problems he's seen. The fact that he's getting more hours and a raise is just an added bonus. Though it couldn't have come at a better time.

After a few months of looking we have put an offer in on a condo. We're still waiting to hear back about it, but we're fairly sure they're accepting our offer. The realtor emailed Chris a copy of the offer they drew up and all of the places for the seller to sign were signed and checked off. The place reeks like cats though, so in the event that we get it we'll have to re-carpet and paint. We've been having fun picking out paint. I've placed myself in charge of decorating the bathroom.

Chris and I got released as the move-in/move-out coordinators for the ward. I'm pretty sure it's because I missed so many consecutive weeks of church. :( I got called as the relief society chorister though, so I'm down with that. It's a little less time consuming, which is great since I've got two jobs and school. Before I was doing our calling for Chris and me since he works every Sunday.

After I got released from physical therapy I've been so excited to have properly working knees I decided to celebrate and I registered for my first half marathon. Hopefully I don't die in the process, but so far so good.

I taught my parents how to use Facebook the other day. They're growing up so fast! I think they'll learn to like it since they can see pictures of everyone that they don't see very often.

Besides that, as always, I'm just in school and getting ready for finals week. One more year and I'm done!
